BIO: Jacqueline Ortiz grew up in Newark, NJ but graduated from Jayuya High School, in Jayuya, Puerto Rico. She holds a Masters in Adult Education from the American InterContinental University, Hoffman Estates, IL, and Bachelors in Human Resource Development from Limestone College.
Before her appointment as a Department of the Army Civilian at Victory University in January 5, 2001, Jackie Ortiz served in the United States Army and Retired with 20 years of active duty service. Her military assignments include Senior Enlisted Advisor, Victory University, Fort Jackson, SC; Basic Combat Training Drill Sergeant, Fort Jackson, SC; Platoon Sergeant 8th Personnel Command, Yong San, Korea; Sub Registry Chief, Joint Tactical Command Control Communications Agency (JTC3A), Fort Monmouth, NJ; Personnel Service Non-Commissioned Officer/Platoon Sergeant Communication Electronics Command, Fort Monmouth, NJ and Administrative Service Senior Enlisted; 38th Personnel and Administration, Stuttgart, Germany. Other assignments are United States Army Fleet, Fort Eustis, VA; Defense Communications Agency, Heston, VA, and VII Corps, Nellingen Barracks, Stuttgart, Germany; and 30th Postal Company, Wiesbaden Air Base, Germany.
Since her retirement in January 2001, Mrs. Ortiz has been assigned with Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC). She serves as the Deputy Commandant for Initial Military Training Leadership School (IMTLS) and senior civilian for IMTLS and Student Detachment. Oversees the proponent function, instructional redesign, and academic execution for the TRADOC Initial Military Training (IMT) Brigade/Battalion Pre-Command Course, IMT Company Commander and First Sergeant Course, IMT Cadre Training Course, IMT Support Cadre Training Course, Installation Staff Contractors Training Course, and the Train-The-Trainer Course.
