Mr. John O'Rourke `

Mr. John P. O'Rourke

BIO: Mr. John O'Rourke was commissioned a Second Lieutenant upon graduation in May 1985, and he reported to 3rd Battalion, 8th Marines. There he served as a Rifle Platoon Commander, Weapons Platoon Commander, and Company Executive Officer for India Company through June 1989. Mr. O'Rourke was transferred to Recruiting Station Hartford, CT, where he assumed the duties as the Operations Officer and subsequently, the Executive Officer.

Following graduation from the Amphibious Warfare School in May 1993, Mr. O'Rourke reported to 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines where he served as the Battalion Landing Team's Logistics Officer from May 1993 through August 1994. In August of 1994, he assumed command of Company G.

After graduating with a master's degree in military studies in August 1997, he was transferred to Headquarters Marine Corps, and assigned to Officer Assignments as the Ground Combat Arms' Major's Monitor.

Mr. O'Rourke accompanied a joint assignment as the Battle Watch Commander at United States Strategic Command from July 2009 until April 2012. After a successful joint tour, he returned to a combat zone as the Deputy Commander, Marine Corps Central Command (Forward) during May 2012. Completing his last overseas assignment, he transitioned from the Marine Corps as a Colonel, September 2013, and became the chief of the newly established United States Army Master Resilience School (USAMRS) at Fort Jackson, SC.

His personal decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Joint Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal with five oak leaf clusters, Navy Commendation Medal, Marine Corps Commendation Medal with oak leaf cluster, Navy Achievement Medal, Marine Corps Achievement Medal, and the Combat Action Ribbon.

Ms. Nichele N. Johnson

Ms. Nichele Johnson
Deputy Director of United States Army Master Resilience School

BIO: Ms. Nichele Johnson has received numerous awards and decorations to include the Legion of Merit and the Bronze Service Medal. As a member of both the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy and Sergeant Morales Clubs, she has also been awarded the Ancient Order of Saint Christopher. Ms. Johnson holds both a bachelor's and master's degree in education with a minor in psychology.

Ms. Johnson has served in every leadership position as a Transporter and recently retired as a Brigade-level Command Sergeant Major at Victory College (currently Leader Training Brigade), Fort Jackson, SC. She is currently serving as a Supervisory Training Instructor at the USAMRS at Fort Jackson,SC.

Mr. Keith Allen

Mr. Keith Allen
Course Manager of Army Master Resilience School

BIO: Mr. Keith Allen was born in Pittsburgh, PA, and entered the United States Army in Philadelphia, PA, where he grew up.

A retired Infantryman, Mr. Allen's past duty stations include 1-502 Infantry at Fort Campbell, KY; 1-504 Parachute Infantry Regiment at Fort Bragg, NC; the 173d Airborne Brigade in Vicenza, Italy; 2-60 Infantry at Fort Jackson, SC, as a Drill Sergeant; the Initial Military Training Leadership School, also at Fort Jackson, SC; and the G3 at the Southern European Task Force (SETAF).

Mr. Allen has deployed with, or in support of the 173d Airborne Brigade, the 82nd Airborne Division, the 4th Infantry Division, the 2nd Armored Cavalry Regiment, the 10th Special Forces Group and the 10th Mountain Division.

Mr. Allen was one of 50 participants in the pilot Master Resilience Trainer Course. Since then, having received additional training at the University of Pennsylvania from Dr. Karen Reivich, developer of the program, he has served as Facilitator, Assistance Primary Instructor and Primary Instructor. Also, Mr. Allen is a Certified Positive Psychology Practitioner. Upon his retirement, Mr. Allen worked with the University of Pennsylvania as part of the Master Resilience Training team, and is now on staff at the USAMRS.
